at the Texas Capitol to show their support for their schools.

GETTING THERE
Make a plan for your transportation.

The Capitol Parking Garage is open to visitors, but it can fill up.

Parking is free for the first 2 hours, then $1 for each half hour. Maximum daily charge is $12.

There is metered parking in the area: this map shows you where.

Public transit is a great option. Find bus stops and bike racks on this map.

We will have overflow parking at Pease Elementary School.

Pease Elementary is currently closed, but parking will be open for us.

Volunteer drivers will help shuttle folks to the Capitol.

SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY

Meet us on the Capitol Grounds

Check in between 8:30-9:30 if you plan on going to a caucus

Arrive by 11am if you only want to attend the Rally

9:30 - 11am Caucuses
-
Students and adults go to different large meetings with other students and state representatives to discuss issues. There’s an opportunity to ask questions. Volunteers will direct you to the right places--watch for the signs!

Student Caucus: First Baptist Church, 901 Trinity

Priorities Caucus (for the grown folks): First United Methodist, 1201 Lavaca

11:30 RALLY - get to the Capitol grounds early and look for our ACPTA banner

12 - 1pm Lunch
-
We recommend your group brings bag lunches but the Capitol Grill is convenient, and there are lots of restaurants near the Capitol. If you ordered lunch in advance, we'll have it for you near the Tribute to Texas Children monument on the Capitol grounds.

1pm - 3pm Meet with area representatives (Rooms E2.012 and E2.016)

Attend as many or few as your schedule allows. There will be opportunities to ask questions. (Check who represents you here.)
