This week saw some tough news come out about the forecasted budget for next year. AISD's Chief Financial Officer shared an estimated $181M shortfall if spending levels are unchanged, and outlined potential savings options in areas like staffing and program reductions. Other topics included the quarterly update on Special Education, college and career outcomes, including the exceptional performance of Navarro High School, and exclusionary discipline. All 60 public comment slots were taken on a variety of issues, and a number of attendees wore shirts and carried books in support of school librarians. Read the complete recap here.
