Read the recap! All the public comment slots were full at last Thursday's meeting, most of them related to the plans for school consolidation. Many commenters asked for a slower timeline for implementation, but Superintendent Segura reminded the Board of the risk that running a budget deficit poses---other districts have faced TEA takeover for financial issues.
Among several other topics, the Board discussed changes to its scorecard, including adding a measure to more explicitly track state accountability ratings. The potential new scorecard is here and will be voted on at the 9/25 meeting.
More updates and previews of voting items for next week are available in the full recap---check it out!
